What is an NVQ in Team Leader?

In all organisations there is a need for effective management if the organisation is to prosper and grow. Although the management structure will vary from one company to another and be dependent on size of the organisation the role of the team leader will be vital to the management process and decisive to the success of those producing the products or services offered by the company.

If you want to move on in your chosen industry, you need to prove that you can not only do your job but that you can adapt to different circumstances, for example a different location, a different type of customer etc. The best way to do this is through an NVQ.

NVQs are qualifications that allow you to prove to your current or potential new employers exactly what you are capable of. They are recognised and respected by retailers up and down the UK, so you can be sure that your time will be well spent.

What is an NVQ in Team Leader?

Team Leading is a set of basic skills and behaviours for staff involved in the management of small teams within any organisation from small enterprises up to the largest corporations.

Our NVQ in Team Leading is designed to make sure that supervisors have the right skills and knowledge to effectively motivate and manage their teams to produce the products and services required of them. This qualification is valid in any sector of industry and provides a stepping stone to higher management skills

NVQs have organisational benefits; providing a benchmark through which to evaluate business performance against national standards, providing links with quality initiatives like ISO, IiP and EFQM, and retain the best staff and improve appraisal and rewards systems.

NVQ LEVEL 2

To achieve this qualification at level 2 you must complete four core units and two optional units. The qualification usually takes about six months but many learners complete in less time. There are no prior qualifications required and each learner will receive a comprehensive initial assessment

This NVQ is designed for people who are involved in Team Leading as their primary work activity, are seeking a career in Team Leading and wish to take the first steps towards professional qualifications or who wish to receive recognition for their Team Leading experience.
